A registration fee of $40.00 will be charged to you at the time of registration.

Please inform us as to what type of dance your dancer may be interested in by filling out the comment box (i.e. Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Creative Movement, Musical Theatre, Modern, Contemporary). Please include any scheduling conflicts in the comment section and we will do our best to accommodate them.

We are looking forward to another great year of dance!

Class Placement

Classes are assigned according to age for beginning levels, or faculty recommendations. As the students continue to grow, further advancement depends on their dance development, technique, maturity, and artistic ability. Placement for levels is at the discretion of the Van Metre School of Dance Faculty. Class placement is not dictated by the number of years in dance training, a student’s age, or grade level in school.

Class Schedules

For our class schedule please call the studio at (865) 982-8463.

Students ages 3-6 are placed in classes according to their age or based off of faculty recommendations. All other dancers will be placed in classes by the director and our faculty. These placements are based on a variety of factors, including maturity, ability, talent, and experience.

Access your schedules through your Portal.

Tuition

Tuition is due the first day of each month, payable through the Parent Portal. To avoid a late payment fee, tuition should be paid in full by or before the first of each month. The monthly rate reflects a substantial discount over single lessons. Monthly tuition is computed on the entire year and remains the same each month, even if shortened by holidays. There are no refunds on tuition. If a student discontinues classes, one month's notice must be given to the office manager in writing. If payment for the year is paid in advance, there will be no refund if a student discontinues.

Attendance

Classes begin in August and continue through May. We follow the Maryville City Schools calendar for holidays - fall break, Thanksgiving weekend, winter and spring break. If Maryville City Schools are closed for snow or bad weather, the dance school will be closed. VMSD will be open for Monday holidays and in-service days, with the exception for Labor Day.

Costumes for Student Recital

Each student will purchase their own costume for the Spring Recital. A non-refundable down-payment is due with your October tuition and the remaining balance will be due in January to ensure that your dancer’s May recital costume arrives on time. If taking more than one discipline, a down payment will be due for each costume ordered. Recitals will be held in late mid to late May at the Clayton Center for the Arts on the Maryville College Campus.
